No wonder she is daddy's girl.

I promised my mom I was going to write about my new favorite thing in the whole world.

It all started about a month ago.

In the morning when I get ready for work I always try to be so quiet. Annalee is usually already up as well getting ready for work about the same time, but both of us want Karlee to stay asleep as long as possible before we have to wake her up to get ready for daycare. Not always does she stay asleep, but anyway back to the story. As I walk down the stairs from our bedroom Karlee's room is right there. I try to tip toe if she is asleep, but it never fails as I hit the next set of stairs I hear "Good Morning Dad (if she is still in bed) where are you going"? She still asks me where I am going even if she is up. I tell her that daddy has to go to work. She then always answers in the wonderful 3 year old question. WHY? I then explain that I have to. She then will usually ask me for loves. I will give her a hug and kiss and tell her to have a good day. She then tells me to have a good day to. I tell her how much I love her and tell her to have fun with her mom or her friends depending on the day. She then says okay.

I then walk out to my car and start my vehicle, I put it in reverse just to hear Bye Daddy! How I love to hear those words. She is usually standing at the door waving good bye sometimes in her PJ's and sometimes she is dressed. I roll down my window and tell her bye again. I then tell her to go inside. As I pull out of the driveway I watch her. When I get to the end of the driveway and ready to pull away she runs out the door again and comes to the end of the garage and yells Bye Daddy! I again waive to her and pull away. When I get to the end of the street I stop and listen. She is now standing at the end of the driveway yelling at the top of her lungs Bye Bye Daddy! I put my hand out the window and waive at her just to see her blow me a kiss.

That is why she is my little girl. Everyday she cheers me up when I go to work. I have now actually come to expect it and feel bad when it doesn't happen. On my way to work I can't help to think of my wonderful family and how blessed I am. I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father that has blessed me with a great family and for a wonderful happy daughter. I love my little girl so much, at times I don't know how I am going to love another little girl just as much as I love Karlee. She is my light and my life. She teaches me everyday how important it is to be a worthy father. I know I will feel the same way about the next girl and will probable have my feelings double. I now have a little glimpse of the love our heavenly father has for each of us. I am so proud to be a dad. And am grateful for the opportunity to raise and care for her.

Way to make me cry Mark! Good thing I didn't have my make up on yet today. There's nothing more important than family and the eternal relationships we have with them. Thanks for sharing. You are a great Dad!
